i remember waking up in the morning to this great smelling breakfast my mom would have it ready in bowls for us to eat its healthy and good for you

Ingredients

  • 3-4 - apples, peeled and diced into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup apple juice or cider
  • 2 cups uncooked steal cut oats (i use regular oatmeal)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, divided
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon, divided
  • - any additional desired toppings for oat meal such as chopped nuts, raisins, craisins, brown sugar, milk, cream, granola, etc.

How To Make apple cinnamon overnight oatmeal

  • Step 1
    spray the crock pot with nonstick cooking spray or use a slow cooker liner.
  • Step 2
    add the diced apples, milk,water, apple juice, oats, maple syrup, butter, salt, vanilla to crock pot and stir until well combined.
  • Step 3
    then mix in 2 tablespoons of the brown sugar along with 1 teaspoon of the cinnamon.
  • Step 4
    cook on low for 7-8 hours.
  • Step 5
    in the morning add the remaining 2 tablespoons brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon and stir in the oatmeal.
  • Step 6
    it will thicken more after you give it a stir.
  • Step 7
    unplug the crock pot and let sit for 5 minutes. your oatmeal is now ready to serve. top with any additional desired toppings.
  • Step 8
    notes: left overs can be placed in containers and put in the refrigerator.
  • Step 9
    to reheat, just add a little milk to 1 cup of the oatmeal. microwave for 30 seconds.
  • Step 10
    give it a stir and microwave another 30 seconds or until heated through.
