french toasted ham & cheese
This lonely recipe has finally been adopted. I like the ingredients in this sandwich . You can bake these in the oven if you like but I made mine in my waffle iron. Delicious!

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons orange marmalade
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 package 8 ounce sliced cooked ham
- 1 - 8 ounce loaf party rye bread
- 1/2 package 8 ounce sliced swiss cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 - egg
How To Make french toasted ham & cheese

Step 1In cup, stir marmalade and mustard until mixed; set aside.

Step 2Cut ham slices to fit on half of the bread slices; cut cheese slices to fit on top of ham, then top with a dollop of marmalade mixture and another bread slice.

Step 3Preheat oven to 450. ( or preheat your waffle iron) to make sandwiches in).

Step 4In 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 jellyroll pan, melt butter or margarine; remove pan from oven.

Step 5In pie plate, with fork beat milk and egg until mixed.

Step 6Dip sandwiches, one at a time, into egg mixture to coat all sides.

Step 7Place sandwiches, in one layer, in jelly roll pan. ( or place in waffle iron-leave in until golden brown about 2-3 minutes)

Step 8Bake until sandwiches are golden brown on both sides, about 20 minutes, turning once. Cut sandwich in half and serve hot.
