I made a resolution to eat healthier in 2012, but I'm realistic enough to know that if I deny myself of the things I love, I'm sure to quit as soon as I begin. All things are in moderation with this healthy breakfast. Good-for-you oatmeal meets creamy, dreamy Nutella and then I topped it off with a few chopped walnuts and some sliced bananas. It's a perfect way to start the day!

How to Make Banana Walnut Oatmeal with Nutella

Step-by-Step

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat milk and salt over medium heat just until it comes to a boil. Reduce heat to low and stir in the oatmeal.
  2. Cook, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes, until most of the milk is absorbed. (If you use quick-coating oatmeal instead, it will take about 1 minute to cook.)
  3. Remove from the heat and stir in the Nutella.
  4. Spoon the oatmeal into bowls and top with sliced bananas, walnuts and brown sugar.
