"Tall, fluffy pancakes are delicious served with butter and syrup or top with strawberries and whipped cream for a real treat." No special ingredients that are not in your pantry. The extra step of beating the egg white takes about 2 minutes but is so worth it.

white vinegar

all-purpose flour
1 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
baking soda
2 Tbsp
white sugar
1/2 tsp
salt

egg, separated

How to Make Sour Milk Pancakes

Step-by-Step

  • 1Combine milk with vinegar in a medium bowl and set aside for 5 minutes to "sour".
  • 2Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  • 3Whisk egg white in small bowl. Just till foamy almost soft peak.
  • 4Add egg yolk and oil to "soured" milk, pour into the flour mixture and whisk until lumps are gone. Fold in egg white.
  • 5Place cookie sheet in preheated oven of 250 ° F to keep cakes warm till all are finished.
  • 6Heat a large skillet over medium heat, and coat with cooking spray. Pour 1/4 cupfuls of batter onto the skillet, and cook until bubbles appear on the surface. Flip with a spatula, and cook until browned on the other side.
