As a child one of my friends was Prudy Hoerter. Every time Prudy and I had a sleepover, Mr. Hoerter would get up early on Sunday and make us breakfast. He always made German pancakes not the Dutch Baby type but true Bavarian pancakes

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups milk or buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

How To Make prudy's dad's german pancakes

  • Step 1
Soak the apples in the milk for 10 minutes.

Mix sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in a shallow bowl. Drain the apple slices and dredge them in the cinnamon/sugar mixture

Place coated apple ring in the batter as the pancake cooks. When bubbles appear flip and cook until golden brown. You can hold these in the oven at 275*F until you finish cooking all the pancakes
  • Step 6
Serve hot with butter and more of the cinnamon sugar mixture.
