Made these for a sleepover morning after... works out great because everyone can have it their own way! Yummy and a crowd pleaser!

12 slice
thick cut day old bread
1/4 c
half and half - milk works fine
1/2 tsp
pure vanilla extract
8 oz
room temperature cream cheese
2 pt
fresh berries or fruit
1/4 tsp
1 Tbsp
white sugar
1/4 c
powdered sugar (for dusting)
maple syrup

How to Make Berry Stuffed French Toast


  • 1Mix together cream cheese and white sugar. Spread on all slices of bread.
  • 2Mix together eggs, half and half (or milk), vanilla and salt.
  • 3Place fruit on 6 of the bread slices and cover with other 6 slices... cream cheese side down. Press together to help it stay as a sandwich.
  • 4Dip sandwiches in egg mixture and place on a buttered or otherwise greased cookie sheet.
  • 5Bake in 425 degree oven for 10 minutes, turn over and bake another 10 minutes. Remove from sheet, dust with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup.
