Made these for a sleepover morning after... works out great because everyone can have it their own way! Yummy and a crowd pleaser!

Ingredients

  • 12 slice
    thick cut day old bread
  • 5
    eggs
  • 1/4 c
    half and half - milk works fine
  • 1/2 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 8 oz
    room temperature cream cheese
  • 2 pt
    fresh berries or fruit
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    white sugar
  • 1/4 c
    powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • ·
    maple syrup

How to Make Berry Stuffed French Toast

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix together cream cheese and white sugar. Spread on all slices of bread.
  2. Mix together eggs, half and half (or milk), vanilla and salt.
  3. Place fruit on 6 of the bread slices and cover with other 6 slices... cream cheese side down. Press together to help it stay as a sandwich.
  4. Dip sandwiches in egg mixture and place on a buttered or otherwise greased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake in 425 degree oven for 10 minutes, turn over and bake another 10 minutes. Remove from sheet, dust with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup.
