Made these for a sleepover morning after... works out great because everyone can have it their own way! Yummy and a crowd pleaser!

Ingredients

  • 12 slices thick cut day old bread
  • 5 - eggs
  • 1/4 cup half and half - milk works fine
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces room temperature cream cheese
  • 2 pints fresh berries or fruit
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • - maple syrup

How To Make berry stuffed french toast

  • Step 1
    Mix together cream cheese and white sugar. Spread on all slices of bread.
  • Step 2
    Mix together eggs, half and half (or milk), vanilla and salt.
  • Step 3
    Place fruit on 6 of the bread slices and cover with other 6 slices... cream cheese side down. Press together to help it stay as a sandwich.
  • Step 4
    Dip sandwiches in egg mixture and place on a buttered or otherwise greased cookie sheet.
  • Step 5
    Bake in 425 degree oven for 10 minutes, turn over and bake another 10 minutes. Remove from sheet, dust with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup.
