Sweeeeeet Sausage Rolls!

Melissa Burgess

I needed to make something for a morning office potluck. I had crescent rolls and sausage in my fridge, but I wanted to throw a twist in there and make them not so ordinary. This is what I came up with and boy were they yummy!

2 can(s)
refrigerated crescent rolls
2 pkg
bacon sausage (or maple)
1 large
red apple (or your favorite variety)
6 oz
sharp cheddar cheese (or your favorite)
4 Tbsp
maple syrup

1Cook the sausages as directed on package. When done drain the cooked sausages on a paper towel or napkin.
2Cut the apple in quarters, then cut off the core part of the apple. Cut each quarter piece into 4 slices.
3Cut the cheese into 16 even rectangle pieces. The pieces should be a little shorter than the sausages.
4Preheat the oven as directed on the crescent roll package.
5Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
6Roll out both packages of crescent rolls flat and pull apart the triangles. Do not roll up the crescent rolls yet.
7Place one sausage, one slice of apple and one slice of cheese along the longest end of the crescent.
8Roll up each crescent roll like instructed on the package, only wrapping up the sausage, cheese and apple inside the crescent roll.
9Place all the sausage rolls evenly on the cookie sheet and drizzle the maple syrup evenly over each crescent roll.
10Bake as directed on the crescent roll package.
