I needed to make something for a morning office potluck. I had crescent rolls and sausage in my fridge, but I wanted to throw a twist in there and make them not so ordinary. This is what I came up with and boy were they yummy!

prep time 30 Min
cook time 15 Min
method Bake
yield makes 16 rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 2 packages bacon sausage (or maple)
  • 1 large red apple (or your favorite variety)
  • 6 ounces sharp cheddar cheese (or your favorite)
  • 4 tablespoons maple syrup

How To Make sweeeeeet sausage rolls!

  • Step 1
Cook the sausages as directed on package. When done drain the cooked sausages on a paper towel or napkin.
  • Step 2
Cut the apple in quarters, then cut off the core part of the apple. Cut each quarter piece into 4 slices.
  • Step 3
Cut the cheese into 16 even rectangle pieces. The pieces should be a little shorter than the sausages.
  • Step 4
Preheat the oven as directed on the crescent roll package.
  • Step 5
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • Step 6
Roll out both packages of crescent rolls flat and pull apart the triangles. Do not roll up the crescent rolls yet.
  • Step 7
Place one sausage, one slice of apple and one slice of cheese along the longest end of the crescent.
  • Step 8
Roll up each crescent roll like instructed on the package, only wrapping up the sausage, cheese and apple inside the crescent roll.
  • Step 9
Place all the sausage rolls evenly on the cookie sheet and drizzle the maple syrup evenly over each crescent roll.
  • Step 10
Bake as directed on the crescent roll package.
