crescent sausage bites

I made this the other morning and my Husband ended up eating 5 slices of this for breakfast. I thought he was going to make himself sick, but he said it was so good that he could not stop eating it...lol. I also take some of the squares to work with me to eat since they are also pretty good cold or room temp. I do not have access to a microwave or oven at work so this makes a perfect breakfast (or snack) for those on the go.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound sausage
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 cans crescent rolls
  • 1-2 cup mexican blend shredded cheese

How To Make crescent sausage bites

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • Step 2
In a sauté pan, brown sausage; drain. Add a dash of salt and pepper. Blend in cream cheese until the cream cheese is melted.
  • Step 3
Unroll one package of crescent rolls and place on a baking sheet. With your fingers, gently press the seams together to seal them. Spread the sausage mixture evenly over the crescent roll dough, leaving about a 1/2-inch border along the edges. sprinkle 4 blend cheese over mixture (as much as you like)
  • Step 4
Unroll the remaining package of crescent rolls and place on top of the sausage mixture. Press the edges together to seal. Gently press the seams together.
  • Step 5
Bake for about 20 minutes, or until crescent roll dough is golden brown.
  • Step 6
Cut into small squares and serve. (A pizza cutter makes really quick and easy work of the cutting).
  • Step 7
I use Hot sausage, but a mild sausage can be used. I also will cut this into larger squares and pour pepper cream gravy over squares before serving.
