Chewy Fruit Oatmeal Bars

Brenda Forbes

I have been making these oatmeal bars since about 2007. All my family, friends, and co-workers that have eaten them love them.

I typically use whatever dry fruits I have on hand. I believe the more variety of fruits the better. Sometimes I add approximately 1/3 c. shredded coconut to the mixture; when doing so, I add a little extra applesauce or milk to gain the desired consistency.

The bars can be stored in a tin or any container in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks--if they last that long. The bars can be easily frozen for future use if desired.
