Ingredients
- 12 slices whole-grain bread, halved
- 2 cups shredded monteray jack cheese
- 1 1/2 cups cooked roast beef, cut into bite-sized pieces (or pork roast or lamb roast)
- 1 cup shredded carrot
- 4 - eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
How To Make use up that leftover roast breakfast strata

Step 1Coat a 13x9x2-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Layer bread slices to cover bottom of dish. Sprinkle cheese, meat and carrot over bread.

Step 2In a bowl, stir togeteher the eggs, milk and seasonings until well mixed. Pour carefully over ingredients in baking dish. Cover. Let stand 1 hour at room temperature or in refrigerator overnight. (Take out 30 minutes before baking and let sit at room temperature).

Step 3Preheat oven to 325F. Uncover baking dish and bake 50 to 60 minutes or until center is nearly set. Let stand 10 minutes. Cut into squares.
