whole-grain bread, halved
2 c
shredded monteray jack cheese
1 1/2 c
cooked roast beef, cut into bite-sized pieces (or pork roast or lamb roast)
1 c
shredded carrot
4
eggs
2 c
milk
1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
dry mustard
1/4 tsp
ground black pepper
1 tsp
worcestershire sauce
1 tsp
dried thyme
1 tsp
dried basil

How to Make Use Up That Leftover Roast Breakfast Strata

Step-by-Step

  • 1Coat a 13x9x2-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Layer bread slices to cover bottom of dish. Sprinkle
    cheese, meat and carrot over bread.
  • 2In a bowl, stir togeteher the eggs, milk and seasonings until well mixed. Pour carefully over ingredients in baking dish. Cover. Let stand 1 hour at room temperature or in refrigerator overnight. (Take out 30 minutes before baking and let sit at room temperature).
  • 3Preheat oven to 325F. Uncover baking dish and bake 50 to 60 minutes or until center is nearly set. Let stand 10 minutes. Cut into squares.
