My family and I love this Southern Breakfast staple. I make it quite often for breakfast or a late brunch.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pork sausage, browned (i like jimmy dean )
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 4 cups milk ( i use whole milk or 2%)
  • - salt & pepper to taste

How To Make sausage milk gravy

  • Step 1
    Melt butter in saucepan. Add flour and stir till smooth.
  • Step 2
    Then Gradually stir in milk, stirring until thickened. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add drained sausage last. Serve with hot biscuits.
  • Step 3
    NOTE: If you prefer your gravy thinner, add more milk till it has reached the consistency you want. I use an additional 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 cups, depending on your preferance.
