This is good with just about everything. It came from work, our beloved Dr. Boatman gave it to us from his wife.Very good in the fall and winter because it is wonderful comfort food.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups grits
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons seasoned salt
  • 3 dashes tabasco
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder ( rounded)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper
  • 8 ounces hot mexican velveeta
  • 8 ounces mild mexican velveeta
  • 1 can green chilies
  • 2 tablespoons jalapeno peppers chopped (out of the jar)
  • 3 - eggs
  • - paprika for garnish

How To Make jalepeno cheese grits

  • Step 1
    COOK: grits in 6 cups boiling water ( like breakfast food and take off heat. ADD:butter, salt, season salt, tabasco, garlic powder, red pepper, cheese, green chilies,jalepeno, cheese. MIX: together till cheese is melted well. POUR: into 9x13 pretty pan and bake at 300 for 1 to 1 1/2 hours till set. Use a little paprika on top to make pretty before baking.
