I am not fond of cooked oatmeal, but this baked oatmeal is more like a breakfast bread than it is a hot cereal.

oatmeal, old-fashioned or quick-cooking
1/2 c
packed brown sugar
1/3 c
golden raisins
2 Tbsp
chopped nuts, any kind
1 tsp
baking powder
1-2 tsp
pumpkin pie spice
1 1/2 c
fat-free milk
1/2 c
2 Tbsp
butter, melted
egg, beaten
cooking spray

How to Make Healthy Baked Oatmeal


  • 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray an 8" x 8" baking dish with cooking spray
  • 2Combine the first 6 ingredients in a medium mixing bowl.
  • 3Combine the milk, applesauce, melted butter, and beaten egg
  • 4Add the milk mixture to the oat mixture; stir well.
  • 5Pour combined mixture into a the prepared baking dish.
  • 6Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Cut into individual servings and enjoy.
  • 7NOTE: Individual servings can be frozen and thawed and warmed in a microwave. Makes a very fast, delicious breakfast.
