My family has always loved breakfast, so much so that on occasion, we may have it for brunch or dinner. When I came across and pinched Cassie's (@1lovetocook1x) "Breakfast 4 Dinner" recipe, I was inspired to create a breakfast recipe that was in line with my family's taste and appetite. I hope you'll give both of our versions a try and see what inspires you!

prep time 15 Min
cook time 30 Min
method Bake
yield 6 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk (of your choice)
  • 1/2 tablespoon prepared honey mustard
  • 1/2 - 1 teaspoons seasoning (like Auntie No-No's Everything)
  • 2 cups ham, cubed or smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 can flaky Grands biscuits (5 count)

How To Make breakfast, anytime of day

  • Set to regular oven bake at 350°F.
    Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Apply butter-flavored no-stick spray to the bottom and sides of a parchment paper-lined 9 x 13 baking dish. This allows for easier handling of leftovers as well as cleanup.
  • Beaten eggs with remaining ingredients, except for meat and biscuits.
    Step 2
In a large bowl, beat eggs. Add remaining ingredients, except for biscuits. Stir to mix well. Set aside.
  • Parchment paper lined pan with no-stick butter spray, and meat sprinkled around biscuit pieces.
    Step 3
Cut each biscuit into quarters (I prefer kitchen scissors or a pizza cutter). Add to the baking pan. Sprinkle meat around the biscuits.
  • I forgot to snap a pic of the dish before placing in the oven. This was taken after about 10-12 minutes, I believe.
    Step 4
Pour egg mixture over biscuit pieces; ensure they are fully coated.
  • This just wasn't my day! I forgot to set the timer and barely remembered to check the oven before it was too late! lol I also used regular buttermilk biscuits by mistake! I prefer the flaky buttermilk.
    Step 5
Bake for 25 - 30 minutes or until golden.
  • The first time I used ham with Auntie No-No's. In my second attempt, I used turkey sausage w/Grill Mates Smokehouse Maple. Both versions tasted great!
    Step 6
*NOTE* If you don't use "Everything Seasoning," another great alternative is Grill Mates Smokehouse Maple! Alternatively, you can season to taste with salt and pepper or use your favorite spices.
