the elvis (peanut butter banana bread)
Love me some peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Why not banana bread? Wanna make it a true Elvis bread? Try adding some crumbled bacon into the mix.

Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup shortening (crisco)
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 - beaten eggs
- 3 medium ripe bananas (black)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup peanut butter chips
- 4-5 slices cooked and crumbled bacon (optional)
How To Make the elvis (peanut butter banana bread)

Step 1sift flour, salt, baking powder and soda. set aside.

Step 2cream shortening add sugar and eggs. add flour and mix

Step 3pour into prepared 9x5 loaf pan and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour. start checking bread for doneness at around 50 minutes. not sure why and it doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes if I let this go for the full 60 minutes it overcooks. so I just start watching it after 50
