Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup pineapple preserves
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard - heinz we prefer
  • 16 ounces 1 round loaf hawaiian bread
  • 8 ounces brick cheese, thinly sliced from deli--your choice flavor
  • 8 ounces thinly sliced deli ham=we prefer maple glazed ham-boar's head brand
  • - olive oil
  • - pimento stuffed green olives-drained and patted dry

How To Make sweet & tasty hawaiian sandwich

  • Step 1
    Combine preserves and mustard in small bowl,mix well. Using pan from hawaiian bread as a guide,cut bread in half horizontally. Pull out and save; if desired or discard,leaving 1-inch shell in Hawaiian bread..
  • Step 2
    Spread preserve mixture on bottom half of bread. Layer with cheese and ham;close sandwich with top half of bread. Brush outsides of bread all over with olive oil.
  • Step 3
    Place large nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot.Add sandwich to pan; press down lightly with spatula on sandwich. Cook sandwich 4-5 minutes per side or until cheese melts and sandwich is golden brown.Cut into wedges; garnish with green olive- 1 per sandwich and attached with fancy topped toothpick. Enjoy :-)
