yellow cornmeal
1 1/2 c
all purpose flour
1/3 c
sugar
1 Tbsp
baking powder
1 tsp
salt
1 1/2 c
whole milk
1 1/2 stick
butter or margarine, melted
3 Tbsp
butter or margarine
2
eggs, slightly beaten

How to Make Sweet Southern Corn Bread

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In your baking pan or skillet but 3 tablespoons butter and place in preheated oven.
  • 2In large bowl mix cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Set aside
  • 3In medium bowl mix milk, melted butter, and eggs. Add to dry mixture and mix until no longer dry.
  • 4Remove baking pan from oven and carefully pour batter into baking pan. Return to oven and bake 35 to 40 minutes.
