This is sweet and VERY LIGHT. Don't recall where I got it but been using it a long time.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups "pioneer" biscuit and baking mix or "bisquick"
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornmeal
  • 1 cup margarine, melted and cooled
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 - eggs, beaten well

How To Make sweet cornbread

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven 350 degrees. Grease 9 in square pan
  • Step 2
    Melt margarine noted below so it will cool
  • Step 3
    Combine biscuit mix, sugar and cornmeal well in bowl
  • Step 4
    Stir cooled margarine and milk into mixture
  • Step 5
    Add well-beaten eggs
  • Step 6
    Pour into greased 9 inch square pan
  • Step 7
    Bake at 350 until done - about 30-40 minutes
