"STARKRIMSON" PEARS & APPLE WALNUT BREAD
Nancy J. Patrykus
A friend dropped 3 dozen off at my home. I shared them with my friends, and ate quite a few myself. They are an eating pear. OH! sooo delicious!
I have never seen them at the stores.I hope you can find some.
I will have to call around....
When they are red, they are at the eating stage, and the skin gets real thin. So with the six left,
I decided to make a bread.
I added a can of pie apples, and made 2-1/2 loaves! For more information on this wonderful pear, Google: STARKRIMSON PEARS
1 cbutter, softened
1-1/2 csugar ( canned pie apples are sweetened)
4 ceggs, beaten
1 tspbaking powder
1-1/2 cchopped walnuts
·stark nursery developed these pears
How to Make "STARKRIMSON" PEARS & APPLE WALNUT BREAD

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs.
Combine all dry ingredients.
Add egg mixture to dry mixture, alternately with buttermilk.
- Skin,core and chop pears.
Then add 1 can of apple pie filling ,chopped to make 2 cups of fruit.

and add 2 teaspoons of vanilla.

This make 2 large loaves of bread.

Bake for 1 hour..... This is my recipe.
- The saucepan in the picture is the cores and skin..
simmering with a wee bit of water...
