nana's nana cake or bread
I got this recipe from my friend's grandmother Ginevra Sullivan in Amarillo, TX during the 1970s. I use it when I have freckled bananas. Mrs. Sullivan always called it "cake". I call it yummalicious!

Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 1/2 cups mashed bananas or crushed pineapple (not both)
- 3 - eggs
- 1 pinch salt
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons soda
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups flour
How To Make nana's nana cake or bread

Step 1Cream butter, sugar and eggs; add remaining ingredients and mix well. Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes (longer if a loaf or bundt pan). Makes 3 layers or 2 loaves or 1 bundt pan. Test with toothpick to be sure center comes out clean. Freezes well.
