Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 large pear, peeled, cored and chopped
  • TOPPING
  • 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom

How To Make pear cardamom bread

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly coat a loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Step 2
    In a large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and 1 tsp cardamom.
  • Step 3
    Beat canola oil, milk and eggs in medium bowl; add to dry ingredients. Stir in pears until well combined.
  • Step 4
    Pour batter into pan.
  • Step 5
    Stir together sugar and 1/4 tsp cardamom; sprinkle over batter in loaf pan. Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Step 6
    Cool 10 minutes before removing to wire rack to cool completely.
