all purpose flour
3/4 c
granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
salt
1 tsp
ground cardamom
1/2 c
vegetable oil
1/4 c
milk
2 large
eggs
1 large
pear, peeled, cored and chopped

TOPPING

1 Tbsp
turbinado sugar
1/4 tsp
ground cardamom

How to Make Pear Cardamom Bread

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly coat a loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • 2In a large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and 1 tsp cardamom.
  • 3Beat canola oil, milk and eggs in medium bowl; add to dry ingredients. Stir in pears until well combined.
  • 4Pour batter into pan.
  • 5Stir together sugar and 1/4 tsp cardamom; sprinkle over batter in loaf pan. Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • 6Cool 10 minutes before removing to wire rack to cool completely.
