Love this bread! So moist with a great banana taste. I had four overly ripe banana's and this is what became of them! Yum!! My daughter even liked it and shes not big on anything banana. She loved it. Served warm with butter and it's heaven!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup each - softened, butter and butter flavored crisco
  • 1/2 cup each - granulated sugar and brown sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon each - baking soda and baking powder
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 11/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup ripe banana, mashed
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • mix - of cinnamon and sugar for the top - optional

How To Make ~ moist, delicious banana bread ~

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Spray a bread pan with bakers secret or grease well. In a large bowl, beat until creamy the shortening, sugars and butter. Next, add the eggs and beat until well blended. Beat in the soda, baking powder, banana, vanilla and sour cream. Mix flour with salt and cinnamon, add to creamed mixture and beat until combined. Stir in the nuts.
  • Step 2
    Spread into prepared loaf pan and sprinkle with sugar/cinnamon mixture. Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minute, or until pick comes out clean. I covered the top with foil when 20 minutes remained of baking.
  • Step 3
    Cool in pan on baking rack for 10 - 15 minutes, remove from pan and finish cooling on rack.
  • Step 4
    Can eat warm with butter. Enjoy! So darned good!
