sugar
1/2 c
butter, melted
2 c
flour
1/2 tsp
baking powder

eggs
3 or 4 medium
ripe or overripe bananas, mashed
3/4 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
salt

How to Make Ma's Banana Bread

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9" x 5" loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • 2Peel bananas and place in bowl of stand mixer or food processor. Melt butter and add to bowl. Mix until no lumps remain.
  • 3In separate bowl, mix all dry ingredients. Incorporate this mixture into wet ingredients and blend completely.
  • 4Transfer to prepared loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes, until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.

    Optional: sprinkle top of batter with 1-2 tablespoons of sugar before baking. This provides a sweet, crunchy top to your banana bread.
