    gluten free flour blend (such as king arthur)
  • 2/3 c
    tapioca flour
  • 2/3 c
    potato starch
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    xanthan gum
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    maple syrup
  • 1 c
    buttermilk, at room temperature
  • 2 large
    eggs
  • 1 stick
    unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 c
    chopped walnuts

How to Make Maple Walnut Bread - GF

Step-by-Step

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine flours, starch, baking powder, soda, xanthan gum, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. Heat butter in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until butter turns a nut brown color. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine maple syrup, buttermilk, and eggs. Stir in browned butter. Add wet ingredients to the dry - stir just until combined. Stir in walnuts.
  4. Pour mixture into a well-greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Bake 55-60 minutes, until it rises and a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.
