Ingredients

  • 1 - 1/4 oz envelope active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 cups lukewarm water (100-110 degrees)
  • 4 cups self rising flour
  • 3\4 cups butter..melted & cooled
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 - pinch of salt
  • - baking spray

How To Make make ahead spoon bread

  • Step 1
    Combine 1st 3 ingredients in a large bowl. Let mixture stand 5 minutes. Stir in flour & next 4 ingredients until well blended. Spoon into muffin tins coated with cooking spray. Filling 2/3 full. Bake 400 degrees 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Step 2
    FOR ITALIAN SPOON ROLLS: Prepare rolls as directed,adding 2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning & 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder with the flour to yeast mixture.
