My mom used to have the perfect recipe for banana bread. It was the best! Unfortunately her recipe is nowhere to be found. So, with a little trial and error, I think I have found the right combination of ingredients to make the best banana bread. We love this and I think you and your family will too!

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 2 stick
    butter - softened
  • 4 large
    eggs
  • 6 large
    bananas - over ripe - smashed
  • 4 c
    flour
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 3 tsp
    vanilla
  • ·
    chopped walnuts - as little or as many as you like *optional

How to Make Lori's Banana Bread

Step-by-Step

  1. Cream together the butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Add the mashed bananas and mix well. Add the vanilla and mix well. Mix the salt, baking soda and baking powder to the flour. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture. Stir in desired amount of walnuts - OPTIONAL. Divide mixture evenly between two loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour or until inserted toothpick comes out clean from the center.
