just plain old rhubarb bread

Have had this recipe for so many years I don't remember where I got it, make it every year always turns out great. You know you have an old recipe when the paper its wrote on is yellow and stained. I hope you enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups crisco oil (i used coconut oil)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk@4 tablespoons vinigar(mixed together)
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 5 cups flour
  • 3 cups rhubarb (diced and blanched)
  • 1 cup walnuts (chopped)
  • TOPPING
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter

How To Make just plain old rhubarb bread

  • Step 1
    Mix ingredients in order given pour into well greased and floured bread pans makes 2 loaves .Add topping .Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/4 hours
