Ingredients

  • 3 c
    all purpose flour,unbleached
  • 2/3 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 3 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    white raisins
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter ,melted
  • 2 c
    buttermilk
  • 2 large
    eggs,beaten

How to Make Irish Soda Bread

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix together flour, sugar,baking powder,baking soda and salt.Stir in raisins.
  2. In separate bowl,combine eggs,buttermilk,and melted butter.
  3. Add liquid mixture to dry ingredients and stir just until moistened.
  4. Pour batter into greased and floured 9 inch cake spring form.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees about 50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
