Ingredients

  • 3 cups all purpose flour,unbleached
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup white raisins
  • 2 tablespoons butter ,melted
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs,beaten

How To Make irish soda bread

  • Step 1
    Mix together flour, sugar,baking powder,baking soda and salt.Stir in raisins.
  • Step 2
    In separate bowl,combine eggs,buttermilk,and melted butter.
  • Step 3
    Add liquid mixture to dry ingredients and stir just until moistened.
  • Step 4
    Pour batter into greased and floured 9 inch cake spring form.
  • Step 5
    Bake at 350 degrees about 50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
