Ingredients

2 cwhole milk
-
1/2 ccanola oil
-
1/2 csugar
-
1 pkgactive dry yeast
-
4 cflour
-
1/2 tspbaking powder (heaping)
-
1/2 tspbaking soda
-
2 tspsalt
-
1/2 cadditional flour
-
1/4 csugar cinnamon mixture

1/2 crasins or nut
-
EGG WASH MIX
-
1egg white
-
·slpash of milk
-
ICEING
-
1egg white
-
1/2 cpowdered sugar

·splash of milk
How to Make hot cross buns
- for the buns...combine 2 cups milk ,1/2 cup oil,1/2 cup sugar sir and heat uuntil almost boiling trun off and let cool for 30 min....
- sprinkle active dry yeast over mix,add 4 cups flour and sir it will be sticky at this stage place bowl on a hot pad on med to low for 1 hour....
- now add 1/2 cup flour,baking soda,baking powder,and salt mix well...
- combine your cinnamon and sugar set aside...
- lightly flour your counter,press to flaten the dough out,get your cinnamon sugar mix and sprinkle a couple tbsp full on the dough and then add your nut or fruit mix to the dough... fold,the dough until the nut mix is gone....
- pinch off ping pong ball sized bunches of dough with floured hands roll dough in to a ball fold the edges over and place on a greased pan... cover your pan with a towel and place back on the heating pad for 30 min...... pre heat your oven to 350
- mix your egg wash and brush over the top of each roll....bake for 20 min or un till brown..
cool completly and then mix your iceing try to get it on the little thicker side and put it in a frosting bag and then make white cross on top.... these are great for easter.
