I don't like bananas but I do like banana bread and this is a really great one if you are diabetic or can't use sugar.

Ingredients For healthy banana bread

  • 1 1/2 can
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    whole wheat flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 6
    fresh ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 c
    sugar substitute
  • 1/2 c
    applesauce, unsweetened
  • 3 lg
    egg whites
  • 1 1/8 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/2 c
    nuts, pecans or walnuts

How To Make healthy banana bread

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

    Spray a pan with nonstick cooking spray

    I medium bowl, whisk together flours, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt to combine.

    I another bowl, beat the mashed bananas, sugar substitute, applesauce, egg whites and vanilla until mixed well. Add the dry ingrediets and whisk until smooth.

    Add nuts slowly,stiring them in.

    Transfer the batter to the loaf pan and smooth the top.

    Bake for 50 minutes to an hour or until the top is browned and the sides of the bread pulls away from the sides of the pan. Remove from the oven and let stand for 10 minutes on baking rack. Invert and unmold onto the rack, turn right side up and let cool.
