My grandmother, from Newfoundland, made this delicious banana bread for us when we were growing up; I haven't changed a single thing and it reminds me of her whenever I smell it baking in the oven, especially on a cold, snowy winter day!

Ingredients
- 2 - eggs
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup bananas (mashed)
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 cup walnut pieces
How To Make grandmother o'brien's banana bread

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Step 2Lightly grease loaf pan (or use 18 muffin liners)

Step 3In large bowl, mix together the eggs, sugar and butter. When thoroughly mixed, add mashed bananas.

Step 4In small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and baking soda. Slowly fold into the banana mix. If desired, add ¾ cup of walnut pieces. Pour mixture into lightly greased loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour.
