Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup crisco
- q/2 cup boiling water
- 1 cup dark molasses (full-flavored)
How To Make grandma beck's gingerbread

Step 1whisk together the dry ingredients. Melt the Crisco in the boiling water. Add the molasses and blend well.

Step 2Stir in the dry ingredients and mix well. Bake in a greased 8" x 8" pan at 350 degrees F for about 30-40 minutes until it passes the toothpick test.

Step 3Dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve with freshly whipped cream, or lemon sauce - or both!
