Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 - lemon (grated) save lemon will need
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 stick unsalted melted butter
  • - juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • LEMON GLAZE
  • - juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup sugar

How To Make glazed lemon bread

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degreeF. Grease the bottom and sides of a 9 inch loaf pan, dust with flour or use pam baking spray.
  • Step 2
    Whisk the flour,salt, sugar, lemon peel, and baking powder together in a large bowl, set aside.
  • Step 3
    In medium bowl beat eggs,with milk, butter,lemon juice and vanilla. Add egg mixture stir in the dry ingredients stir until just combine. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  • Step 4
    Bake until the loaf is golden brown and a tooth pick inserted in the middle of bread comes out clean. at 50 minutes.(do not remove bread from pan)
  • Step 5
    Using a wooden skewer to poke holes numerous in hot bread piercing all the way to bottom, slowly drizzle hot glaze over bread.Let bread cool in pan on a wire rack until glaze is set about 5 minutes. Then remove from pan and let cool completely on rack.
  • Step 6
    For GLAZE: Combine lemon juice and sugar in a small sauce pan, stir over medium heat, until sugar is dissolved.
