ginger, pear and pecan bread
I served this as a dessert, sliced and with a dollop of whipped cream. You can buy candied ginger bits in larger stores and specialty markets, which saves time of chopping.

Ingredients
- 1 2/3 cups all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 can (15 oz) sliced pears, drained and chopped
- 1/4 cup candied ginger. chopped
- 1/2 cup pecan halves
How To Make ginger, pear and pecan bread

Step 1Preheat oven to 350F. Butter the bottom and sides of a loaf pan.

Step 2In a large bowl, sift flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and ginger.

Step 3In a medium bow, beat melted butter, mil and eggs; add to dry ingredients and stir in pears until well combined.

Step 4Stir in candied ginger and pecans. Pour batter in prepared pan.

Step 5Bake 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Step 6Cool on wire rack in pan for 10 minutes before removing from pan.
