Pancakes are a breakfast staple at my house~I've even been known to make them for supper or a quick, sweet dessert. This recipe takes your pancakes into that golden realm of "not just for breakfast anymore". While it's easy to get pancakes from a box (I do it all the time), sometimes I don't have a mix on hand or I've got time to put some more "love" into it. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 - egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • - cooking spray

How To Make fluffy pancakes from scratch

  • Step 1
Combine milk with vinegar in a medium bowl and set aside for 5 minutes to "sour". Next, blend the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Now whisk the butter and egg into the milk mixture. Add the flour mixture and whisk to remove any lumps.
  • Step 2
Heat a large pan or skillet over medium heat. Coat with a cooking spray, then pour about 1/4 cupful of the batter onto the pan. Let that cook until bubbles appear on the surface, then flip with a wide spatula. Cook until golden brown on the other side.
