This makes a great coffee-cake like textured treat. So it's more cake than pie! I buy the colorful red and green baking tins and make up batches for gifts. Cell wrap, curling ribbon, voile'!!!

Ingredients For drema's "cranberry nut" sweet bread

  • 1 1/2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 2 c
    cranberries, fresh, picked and washed
  • 1/2 c
    pecans, chopped or pieces
  • 1/2 c
    flour, plain
  • 1/2 c
    flour, self-rising
  • 2
    eggs, well beaten
  • 3/4 c
    butter or margerine, unsalted, melted
  • 1 tsp
    almond extract
  • 1/4 tsp

How To Make drema's "cranberry nut" sweet bread

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease or spray pie tin or plate. In medium-sized mixing bowl combine 1/2 cup of sugar, cranberries and chopped pecans. Mix thoroughly!

    Pour this mixture in bottom of pie tin. Set aside. In large mixing bowl combine flours, 1 cup sugar, salt, well beaten eggs, melted butter and extract. Mix together well and pour over cranberry mixture.

    Bake at 325 defrees F for 40 minutes. Enjoy!
