  • 7 1/4 oz. box
  • 3/4 c
    boiling water.
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar packed.
  • 1/4 c
    butter or margarine
  • 1 3/4 C. c
    all purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/2 c
    chopped walnuts.
  • 1 large
    egg beaten.
  • 1 tsp

How to Make Date Nut Bread.


  1. Grease an8x4x2" loaf pan well.
  2. Chop dates into 4 pieces
  3. drop into a bowl. add boiling water, butter and brown sugar. Stir thoroughly
    Let cool.
  4. Sift flour 3 times with salt and soda. Stir egg into date mixture. Then add flour mixture and vanilla and beat well.
    add nut's.
  5. Pour into greased pan. Cover with another pan the same size. Let sit for 10 mins. put in a 350 F oven bake with pan on for 20 mins. mins. Uncover and bake another 50 mins. Turn out on cooling rack to cool.
