Ingredients

  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar, divided
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 - eggs
  • 2 cups butter milk
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon

How To Make cinnamon raisin bread

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl, combie the flour, 1- 1/2 cups sugar, soda and salt. in a small bowl, whisk the eggs, buttermilk and oil. Stir into dry ingerients just until moistened. Fold in the raisins. Comebine cinnamon and remaining Sugar; set a side.
  • Step 2
    Spoon half of the batter into two greased 8-in x 4 in loaf pans. Sprinkle with half of the reserved cinnamon -sugar ; repeat layers. cut through batter with a knife to swirl.
  • Step 3
    Bake at 350 f. for 55-60 minutes or until a tooth pick inserted near the center comes out clean. cool in pans for 10 minutes before re moving from pans to write racks. yield: 2 loaves ( 12 slices each)
