Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 orange, juice of
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup red sour pitted cherries
  • 1 cup pecans, in pieces

How To Make cherry pecan bread

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 325F. Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • Step 2
    Combine dry ingredients.
  • Step 3
    Add enough water to orange juice to make 3/4 cup.
  • Step 4
    Combine juice, zest, oil, and egg. Add to dry ingredients and mix well.
  • Step 5
    Fold in cherries and pecans.
  • Step 6
    Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Step 7
    Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a wooden skewer comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes, then remove from pan.
