FROM HELEN'S PANTRY Want something besides banana bread? This cherry nut bread is good, if you have fresh or frozen cherries. it will work with maraschino cherries also.

Makes 1 9 by 5 loaf pan
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour sifted
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons shortening
- 1 - egg beaten
- 1/2 cup nuts chopped
- 1- (12) fl ounce can evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup cherry juice or water
- 1/3 cup dried cherries chopped
How To Make cherry nut bread

Step 1Sift dry ingredients together, add nuts.

Step 2Mix all liquids together, add cherries. Blend into dry ingredients just until moistened.

Step 3Bake in a 9 by 5 greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 60 minutes.
