caramel rolls
I created this caramel rolls recipe. They are a sibling to cinnamon rolls, filled with caramel ice cream topping, caramel bits, and caramel peanuts.

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 package active yeast (.25 oz)
- 1 1/4 cups fat free milk, divided
- 1/2 cup caramel ice cream topping
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 4 - egg whites
- 2 teaspoons nutmeg
- 5 cups all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup melted margarine
- 1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups caramel bits
- 1 cup chopped caramel peanuts
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup caramel ice cream topping
How To Make caramel rolls

Step 1Pour the warm water into a large mixing bowl and sprinkle yeast over the water. Allow to stand until the yeast begins to form a creamy foam, 5 to 10 minutes.

Step 2Stir in 1 cup fat free milk, caramel ice cream topping, sea salt and egg whites. Mix until thoroughly combined. Mix in 2 teaspoons of nutmeg, then add about 5 cups of flour.

Step 3Turn the dough out onto a floured work surface, and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes. Dough will be slightly sticky. Form the dough into a ball, place into an oiled bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes.

Step 4Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Step 5Punch down the dough and roll it out to a rectangle shape on a floured work surface until it measures about 18 inches and 26 inches long.

Step 6Brush the dough with 1/4 cup melted margarine. Mix with brown sugar and sprinkle with caramel chips and chopped caramel peanuts. Roll up the dough the long way, and pinch the seam closed, then cut the dough into 12 equal-sized pieces with a sharp knife. Lay the rolls into the prepared baking dish.

Step 7Bake in the preheated oven until lightly golden brown, 30 to 40 minutes.

Step 8For the frosting: in a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, caramel ice cream topping and remaining fat free milk, mix well until blended.

Step 9Take the rolls out of the oven, spread the frosting onto the rolls and drizzle with caramel ice cream topping.
