my mom taught me this one when i was little and i have made it ever since.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 to 3 - eggs
  • 2 to 3 - ripe bananas
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup crushed walnuts

How To Make banana bread

  • Step 1
    In a large glass bowl, microwave a stick of butter about 1 minute to liquify it.
  • Step 2
    Add the sugar and stir with fork.
  • Step 3
    Add the eggs and mix thoroughly. (I use 3 eggs)
  • Step 4
    Add bananas (Ripe ones work better) and mush into the mixture. (I use 3 or 4 bananas)
  • Step 5
    After mixture is smooth, add Flour, Salt, Baking Soda and Baking Powder. Mix thoroughly.
  • Step 6
    Add crushed walnuts and add raisins.
  • Step 7
    Pour into one or two greased, (I use Pam), metal bread pans, depending on how thick you want the bread to be. (I use 2 pans usually)
  • Step 8
    Bake in oven at 350 degrees F. for an hour to hour and a half.... i go by smell and by if the knife i poke into the bread shows if there is uncooked batter inside or not.
  • Step 9
    Let cool for a little bit, cut up and enjoy!
