Easy and delicious!

This recipe reminds me of my mom. She baked this all the time for us when we were kids. It's an oldie, but still a goodie!

  • 1 1/2 c
    chunky applesauce
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    oil
  • 2
    eggs
  • 3 Tbsp
    milk
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    allspice
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1/2 c
    walnuts, chopped
  • TOPPING

  • 1/4 c
    walnuts, chopped
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon

How to Make Applesauce Bread

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
    Grease your 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan.
  2. Combine applesauce, sugar, oil, eggs and milk.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, soda, baking powder, salt and spices.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the applesauce mixture.
    Beat well, then fold in walnuts.
  5. Pour into prepared loaf pan.
  6. Combine the topping ingredients.
    Sprinkle evenly on top of mixture in the loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean.
    Cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pan, and cool completely on rack.
  8. Enjoy!
