  • 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sage
  • 3 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup parsley, choppped
  • 1 cup liquid from cooking giblets
  • 1 cup water

How To Make yummy traditional southern dressing

  • Step 1
Cook giblets in boiling water approximately 20-25 minutes. Chop fine. Melt butter and saute celery and onions. Cube bread and cornbread. To it add the salt, poultry seasoning, pepper and sage. Add the celery-onion mixture; stir well. Add the beaten eggs, liquids and parsley. Toss until all ingredients are well blended.
  • Step 2
STUFFING; Rinse and pat dry cavity of turkey. Do not pack stuffing in tightly - loosely spoon into cavity. Any remaining mixture can be put into baking pan and cooked as dressing. Cook turkey as directed by size of bird.
  • Step 3
DRESSING: Place mixture in 9x13 pan (or size determined by amount of dressing - if using remainder after stuffing turkey). Bake at 350 degrees, covered 30 minutes, uncovered approximately 10 or until lightly browned on top. Be careful not to over bake - may become too dry.
