Some mornings I want sweet, and some mornings I want salty, but some mornings I want BOTH, so this is what I make.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices bread or Texas toast
  • 1 slice ham, deli or other
  • 1 slice cheese, any kind
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

How To Make sweet & salty breakfast sammie

  • Step 1
    Assemble the sandwich by placing the cheese and ham between the two slices of bread.
  • Step 2
    Melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium high heat on stovetop.
  • Step 3
    In a bowl, beat the egg and add the milk; Whisk with a fork to mix. Dip both sides of the sandwich into the egg mixture and grill in melted butter. Flip over and cook on other side.
  • Step 4
    Serve warm with syrup and a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
