Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups yellow cornmeal
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 - eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3 - jalapeno peppers, seeded and finely chopped

Step 1In a bowl,combine the first six ingredients. In another bowl,whisk the eggs,buttermilk and oil.

Step 2Add to the dry ingredients and stir just until moistened. Stir in jalapenos.Pour into a greased 9" square baking pan.

Step 3Bake at 400 degrees for 20-22 min. or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cut into squares. Serve warm.
