guacamole bread

Gorgeous color, smells amazing when baking, and makes the most awesome sandwiches (especially grilled cheese) you've ever tasted! A family favorite and one of my most requested ;) I'll post a picture next time i make it ;)

yield 24- slices (or 24-rolls)

Ingredients

  • 2-1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 6 cups bread flour
  • 1 package guacamole seasoning
  • 2 - avacodos
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 - egg
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon salt

How To Make guacamole bread

  • Step 1
    Combine your flour, yeast, salt, honey and seasoning mix together in a bowl.
  • Step 2
    Mash your avacoda with your egg and oil. Stir in the buttermilk.
  • Step 3
    Combine the two mixtures and knead the dough for about 10-minutes, adding more flour if necessary (i usually do not have to).
  • Step 4
    Cover and let rise for about 45-minutes.
  • Step 5
    Knock the dough back, roll out into a two rectangles (or therabouts, perfection is not necessary), roll up into a loaf shapes and place in a greased/sprayed loaf pans. (Alternatively, you can make 24-rolls out of this).
  • Step 6
    Let rise for another 45-minutes in a warm place.
  • Step 7
    Preheat your oven to 400F the last 15-minutes of your dough's rising time.
  • Step 8
    Bake the loaves for about 35-minutes, or until nice and brown and sounds hollow when you tap on the bottom. (for rolls, bake for about 20-minutes or so)
  • Step 9
    Brush melted butter over the top and enjoy!
