Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup quick oats
  • 1/2 cup hot milk
  • 3/4 cup pureed or canned solid pumpkin
  • 1 - beaten egg
  • 5 tablespoons melted butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 1/2 cups bread flour

How To Make golden hot rolls

  • Step 1
    combine yeast, 1 tsp sugar and water in a bowl, set aside
  • Step 2
    combine oats and milk in seperate bowl. stir, let cool
  • Step 3
    add all ingredients, except flour in a large bowl. stir well. add 1 cup of the flour. with electric mixer, mix well until smooth
  • Step 4
    by hand, stir in rest of flour. 1/2 cup at a time till all is used.
  • Step 5
    knead 5 minutes, I knead directly in bowl if it is large enough.
  • Step 6
    put in greased bowl, cover with tea towel and let rise 1 hour
  • Step 7
    punch down, grease baking pan with shortening, form into 12 balls
  • Step 8
    cover with tea towel and let rise another hour
  • Step 9
    bake 375 degrees 12 to 15 minutes.
