  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1/4 c
    warm water
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/2 c
    quick oats
  • 1/2 c
    hot milk
  • 3/4 c
    pureed or canned solid pumpkin
  • 1
    beaten egg
  • 5 Tbsp
    melted butter or margarine
  • 1/4 c
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 3 1/2 c
    bread flour

How to Make Golden Hot Rolls


  1. combine yeast, 1 tsp sugar and water in a bowl, set aside
  2. combine oats and milk in seperate bowl. stir, let cool
  3. add all ingredients, except flour in a large bowl. stir well. add 1 cup of the flour. with electric mixer, mix well until smooth
  4. by hand, stir in rest of flour. 1/2 cup at a time till all is used.
  5. knead 5 minutes, I knead directly in bowl if it is large enough.
  6. put in greased bowl, cover with tea towel and let rise 1 hour
  7. punch down, grease baking pan with shortening, form into 12 balls
  8. cover with tea towel and let rise another hour
  9. bake 375 degrees 12 to 15 minutes.
