garlic knots

Was looking for different ways to make rolls for dinner. Saw a recipe for knots and played around with it till I was able to make it my own and better then first time. My daughter gets very excited when she sees me rolling out the dough. And between her and my husband I don't have any left over.

Ingredients

  • DOUGH MIX
  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup water plus 2 tablespoon
  • GARLIC SAUCE
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/4 cup parmigiano-reggiano, grated

How To Make garlic knots

  • Step 1
    Put dough mix into bread machine according to manufactures recommendations and set it to the dough setting.
  • Step 2
    Once done with proofing roll out dough and cut into 1in thick strips only 5in long.
  • Step 3
    Tie the strips into a knot.
  • Step 4
    Brush knots with olive oil.
  • Step 5
    Preheat oven 375.
  • Step 6
    Proof again till doubled in size. I have skipped this step and just popped them in the oven to cook.
  • Step 7
    Bake for 20 minutes.
  • Step 8
    For the sauce melt butter on low heat.
  • Step 9
    Add the garlic and parsley and cook till garlic is soft.
  • Step 10
    Put knots in bowl and pour garlic sauce over rolls and toss to get a good coating.
  • Step 11
    Place knots on platter and top with salt and cheese.
