- 2 cups whole wheat bread flour
- 2 cups bread flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- MEDIUM LOAF (USING BREAD MACHINE)
- 7/8 cup water ( 7/8 cup to 1 cup water)
- 1 - egg
- 1/4 cup oil
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups whole wheat bread flour
- 1 1/2 cups bread flour
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- SMALL LOAF (USING BREAD MACHINE)
- 5/8 cup water (5/8 cup to 3/4 cup water)
- 1 - egg
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole wheat bread flour
- 1 cup bread flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
How To Make fifty-fifty whole wheat bread using bread machine

Step 1Place all ingredients in bread pan, using the least amount of water listed in the recipe. Note: We put the water, eggs, oil in the pan then add the mixture of flour, salt & sugar on top. We make a hole in the flour & place the yeast in that hole. Follow your bread maker's instructions on how to put ingredients in your pan.

Step 2Select Whole Wheat cycle and Medium Crust Setting. Press Start.

Step 3Observe the dough as it kneads. After 5 to 10 minutes, if it appears dry and stiff or if your bread machine sounds as if it's straining to to knead it, add more liquid 1 TBS at a time until dough forms a smooth, soft, pliable ball that is slightly tacky to the touch.

Step 4After the baking cycle ends, remove bread from pan, place on cake rack, and allow to cool 1 hour before slicing.
